Aussies and
Gauchos (Song
– Payada)
Aussies and Gauchos together
In the morning get up early
The daily work is hard
With the cows and sheep to guard.
The Gaucho drinks “Mate Amargo”
The Aussie “Beer
cold and long”
Singing as they are working
In the morning ever a daily song.
Aussie song is “Very Happy”
Optimistic, enthusiastic
The Gaucho plays his “Payada”
Nostalgic, sentimental.
Guitars play them altogether
The music really is charming.
Differences always existing
Akubra Hats and Chambergos
The sun is hard in the evenings
To greet the other is noble.
Lands on the Earth our Lord and God created
So far, each other, and distant,
but dialogue is ever probable.
I do not know if they are really “Brothers”
But similarities
they have
“Aussies and Gauchos” together
the land they daily work hard.
Horses the Gauchos are taming
Aussies Kangaroos watching
The Gauchos are “facon” shining
Aussies “Boomerangs”
launching.
In peace are working each morning
In peace “brotherhood
perhaps is shared”.
